Chief Technology Officer (CTO)

Job Overview

 

This position located in Taipei leads engineers and technicians in Aquanet Power Group and directly reports to the Group MD. This position is responsible for overseeing the technological and engineering research and development of the company.

 

Successful candidates require excellent skills in engineering management and leadership. Maintenance and protection of the Company’s IP in conjunction with the IP attorney is also a key responsibility of the role. 
 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the team of engineers and technicians working in the company;

  • Manage Design/System Engineering/ Technical Authority as delegated by the MD;

  • Apply appropriate design, development, and industrialization process and procedures in order to progress TRL./MRL maturity; in a most efficient and cost-effective manner.

  • Manage and develop Intellectual Property, capturing and protection strategies;

  • Manage product configurations, technical data analysis to achieve product optimization;

  • Oversee the Test and Evaluation activities to ensure successful product developments;

  • Discuss and solve complex problems with sub-contractors, suppliers, and customers;

  • Manage technical aspects of the projects using engineering principles and techniques;

  • Take initiative in thought leadership, innovation and creativity;

  • Work closely with Business Development/Marketing/Production/Financial /Projection Management to support the efficiency to achieve the Company’s targets & objectives on time and cost-effectively.

 

Basic Requirements

  • Master or PHD Qualifications in Mechanical, System Engineering, or other relevant engineering disciplines.

  • Previous working experience as a CTO and technical management experience of 15+ years required with demonstrated ability to coach, mentor, and develop; at least 10+ years’. Directly related working experience in the renewable energy field is preferable.

  • In-depth knowledge and proficiency in system development integration process management and establishment of technical standards platform for the Company’s products.

  • Fluent with FEA, CAD/Solid Works/CFD or similar software applications

  • Experienced in Electrical and Control System design architecture.

  • Proactive problem solver and attention to details.

  • Willingness to travel overseas

  • Good English Proficiency is important and the candidate should also have outstanding communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
